If you're worried about timing, you're using retroarch in KMS mode with the vulkan backend.

Re: SNES Paint Program?
If you mean doing graphics hacks for games, there's plenty of tools and stuff out there for that. You'll need to do some research yourself, though, as it's a large subject beyond the scope of a forum thread. Look up ROM hacking.

Mednafen PSX is the new big one, as opposed to pSX and pcsx.

Re: Has anyone tried to modify ZSNES with a better sound cor
The SMW ROM hacking community has quite a bit of legacy cruft, including specific hacks but also tools that people probably still use, which depends on zsnes.

Re: How to force 8:7 Aspect Ratio?
Create a custom resolution for your monitor's native resolution, then there should be an option somewhere to use 4:3 aspect ratio, just uncheck that and it should work.

Where will you be accepting donations? Do you require just cash or will you accept donations of equipment or any games you might need for test?

It's interesting how this blew up on reddit supposedly, but they're so brand-loyal to reddit that they didn't bother posting here. :p

Hopefully the death of zsnes then. Better off dead than commercial and closed.pagefault wrote:It won't be free and future ZSNES releases won't because we have reached the point where we can't work for free like slave labour for a "cause". Time is money friend.

Re: Blast from the past: Chrono Trigger on ZSNES 0.150
I think i've seen this video before. Kind of interesting to see the progress made heh, and how the game honestly looked almost fully playable even in I imagine the mid 90s, just with some visual glitches and well, rather awful audio. I wonder how many people could play full speed on their computers ...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
The standard for binary packages is to provide required libraries with the software, or some way to acquire them, as in Windows. That doesn't do much for multilib libraries missing completely, though.
Either way, ldd gives you more information on what file was missing.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I've never had 32 bit stuff break under 64 bit linux. Worst I've had was Flash misbehave, but I'm going to chalk that up to Flash itself. 64 bit Linux seems to even be able to run 16 bit code, as many win16 applicatiosn run through wine without emulation.

Even if it's only released as a 32 bit application, it'll still run on 64 bit systems.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
By more native I mean, from what I read (don't remember where but probably somewhere in this thread), it'll probably be like GTK or Qt or one of those. Not quite native but more so than what zsnes is now. Would be cool if they at least offered a skin to make it look similar to the old UI but I highl...

More likely just a kid who will grow out of it or a developmentally delayed adult than anything like a specifically lazy person or anythign like that. Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Hey, nothing wrong with unfiltered blocky pixels. :p Although aspect ratio adjustment does require a 1px interpolation between pixels to keep them looking more even. Blurry filters can also make the image look washed out, too (but i believe there are ways around that).

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
They were pretty much originally sort of a performance compromise right? Get the game working on slow as hell computers by applying no scaling in software? Personally, I'd say R modes are silly, since TVs weren't 8:7 anyway.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
My assumption is that sinc ethe SNES doesnt' have speific character ROMs and typically evne uses compressed graphics, that'd be a lot harder. I could be wrong though. At best it'd probably have to be game-specific...
