For 1.42, try disabling sound. It seems to be something to do with the game's audio (I'm guessing the music, as it's the only thing noticeably different from the first couple games) that causes hanging in netplay.

1.337 works with no lag once both sides firewalls have turned off, but i cant seem to get bomberman 5 working

its ALWAYS just a black screen, but i knew it was desyncing straight away as i had this problem before. And i have tried this on 1.36 with exactly the same problem but i'll try more on 1.36

First i'd like to say taht im on a router and have a firewall etc. and thanks to the guide i've managed to get a friend and I connected. And now hte problem... After waiting a while after what seems a "freeze" the game finally loads, but it just has a black screen. I can tell it loads beca...
