I never managed to get sound on any DOS version of ZSNES. Ever.
And I don't believe I was alone in that.

You're wrong. Oh, wait, you're actually right. But the DOS version is, as mentioned, better for older low-end machines such as my 166MMX with a whole 80MB of RAM. On my system, Win version runs too slowly to be any worth. The only game I used it for was Front Mission, and that was before I bought a ...

Options: Shortcut Key Clash (DOS)
S idewinder Fix U s e Small Message Text Basically, pressing 's' to toggle either will inevitably toggle both, requiring usage of the mouse to fix it, and rendering the whole concept of keyboard shortcuts obsolete . I'm not entirely sure if this was present in the WIP versions. I guess I picked the...

Annoying little bug with the F1 menu. DOS version, running in VESA1 mode. Call up the F1 menu, and toggle the screenshot format (Either to PNG or BMP). Now, whenever you call up the F1 menu on future occassions, screenshot format will always be the default even if you closed the menu with another op...

Actually, I've found turning the in-game music off (via the game's options, not using ZSNES' GUI) fixes the crash problem. You don't have any in-game music, but that's a minor detail. A fairly big issue, really. Because the ingame music is so damned awful. Good luck getting the Boombada spell thoug...

DOS old-skool user here, yo. The only time I used ZSNESW was when my old graphics card couldn't support VESA1 in DOS, and Front Mission required transparencies to display the field of play correctly. Otherwise, DOS ZSNES has been my primary emulator, even if I can't get past the fucking Yoshi race i...

Sorry for the bumpage, but I'd like to add to this. Latest WIP (20-09), DOS version (VESA1 mode I'm afraid). The graphical glitching on the overworld is still present, if greatly reduced. Rather than the complete screenwide tear we used to get, the map layer seems to expand rapidly along the X-axis ...

Yes, both these bugs are in the 1.0 rom only. The energy vanishing only seems to occur after the soft-reset glitch. Before as well. Like I said, I started a fresh game, got through the intro stage, and it started to occur throughout Chill Penguin's stage before the game soft-reset. And I've only ev...

Megaman X Bug (II) (WIP, DOS)
No, not the subtank half-fill bug (Though that is present), I've noticed these two bugs with the current DOS WIP version, as well as a previous (Can't remember exactly), definately not present in the previous final build. CRC32: 1033EBA4 First bug: Pickups dropped by enemies vanish on contact with t...
