The biggest issue is fglrx uses GLX 1.2, rather than 1.3. Yeah, that's quite annoying for sure. I just can't wait for the day when there'll be decent open drivers for ATI (or at least when fglrx will use up-to-date GLX), it's so bothersome to see how much perf is being lost in comparison with windo...

If only there was a clean easy way to combine SDL+OpenGL+GTK (like Win32+DirectX) then it would've been good. Either the sound or video won't be good. The only emulator on Linux with which I am most impressed with is Mednafen. Its the only emulator that has awesome sound and video support though no...

Hence, I can't wait to see a real working Genesis emu for linux ! You have one right here. Do you mean a working segacd/megacd emulator? Yes and No. I actually meant an emu which would compete with the windoze ones (Kega for exemple). For the moment, *nix emus are either not accurate enough (MESS, ...

Yes, maybe there will be a linux version. CD-ROM/Supergrafx support will be there too (because its not too hard :) ). Sweeeeeet ! BTW, mednafen offers near perfect PCEngine/SGFX and CD-ROM² support for linux. You may want to have a look on its source code (it's open source). I have no plans to add ...

You're welcome ! :D

Btw, I saw you are working on a TGX, PCEngine emu, will there be a linux version as well, and will it have CD-ROM²/S-CD support ?
Speaking of which, do you ever plan to add Sega CD and Mega CD support to Regen ?

Take care !

I just tried the linux version of Regen, so I'd like to give some feedback: speed is fine in general (maybe a little slow, but I'm only using a 1,84GHz CPU) and sound is awesome. Now for the "not so fine" part: GUI and joypad/joystick support are badly needed (but as I understood, you're w...

Just a few small questions about the "coming soon" linux release: will it use opengl ? If so, will it be ok with ati cards ? I know it may sound a bit off topic, but ati users like me, who are more or less forced to use the "crappy as hell" fglrx drivers will surely understand my...

Ok, thanks a lot ! Anyway, does the CVS .deb include the ati patch (I've got an ati mobility x700 and using fglrx 8.4) ?

Oops, my mistake ! Well, that's nice to hear, can't wait to see a fully working release ! Sound seems to be the problem for the moment, am I right ?

I know this is kinda stupid to ask, but I was wondering: is there any chance to see a port of Regen for Linux ? There aren't many good and accurate genesis emus under linux (the Gens port is quite outdated and bugged, SDLMESS seems the best alternative but it's emulation level is not so good). It's ...
