Wow, I went looking for this board last summer and just assumed it was dead for good. This is a blast from the past, for sure.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Ninja: Are the microtransactions in Bravery Default 100% optional? So far, have you felt ANY pressure/need to buy any of that nonsense? Also, the US box art is creepy & I wish SE had just used the Japanese cover art. The microtransactions are absolutely optional, and frankly, mostly useless. Al...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I got Bravely Default in last weekend, and have mostly been playing that since. It's a nice, fairly standard JRPG with some fun elements. The Brave/Default system adds a bit more to the combat than I expected. The city building / side bosses is at least mildly entertaining. So far, I wouldn't say it...

Re: Merry Christmas, you lovable assholes.
Science will never prove god, simply due to the nature of scientific proof. If a truly supernatural event were to observed well enough to even be considered for scientific inquiry, the best it could ever do is stay in the "unexplained" category forever. What science does do, however, is de...

Whoa. Do you have a link to the interview or article that came from?Gil_Hamilton wrote:Wozniak asked them about the blatant errors in a script that "abhorred" him, and was told it was because "we aren't making a documentary."

Why can't we all just worship Kanye West? I'm sure he would have no problem with it.

I got myself a 3DS for Christmas and have been playing Mario and Luigi: Dream Team. Reminds me a lot of Super Mario RPG. I'm going to have to go back and play the earlier games in the series now...

Re: Problem when pressing multiple keys on keyboard
Counterpoint: The worst d-pad ever seen this side of a Gravis product. The Dual Shock 3's d-pad is better, but I'm afraid that's the only device to compare against I've had in a while. OK, I forgot I had a Logitech Rumblepad 2 lying around. I only remembered it after getting into Super Meat Boy a c...

Re: Problem when pressing multiple keys on keyboard
Do you know how it gets around this? I mean, I ASSUME it still appears as a HID keyboard. It seems to show up as both a "HID Keyboard Device" and a "Microsoft SideWinder X4 Keyboard (IntelliType Pro)". I'm guessing it has a special keyboard protocol, but still emulates a standar...

Re: Problem when pressing multiple keys on keyboard
are laptop and USB keyboards more prone to this problem compared to PS2 ones? No, but PS/2 keyboards are the only ones that support true n-key rollover. Limitations in the USB keyboard protocol mean that USB keyboards can only do 6-key rollover, so no matter how well the hardware is built, the PC w...

Silver is doable so long as your team knows to stick together, and you don't have people leave/lag out. Gold... yeah. You definitely need communication there.

Re: Running old ZSNES on modern machine
I'm a bit late to the party, but have you tried something other than VirtualBox, such as QEMU, VMWare, or the Virtual PC built into Win7 Pro and up? You could even try installing Windows XP SP1 in a modern VM and then running MS Virtual PC 2004 inside. Hm, I might have to give that a shot. EDIT: OK,...

If there's one thing I've learned from movies, it's that the NSA can remotely activate your phone, track you with near perfect precision even inside of buildings, and record from your mike with excellent clarity. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a grain of truth in there. </paranoid>

Glide64's been around 10 years? Damn I'm getting old.
I particularly can't believe it's been almost 7 years since I helped design the "new" site.

I'm a little surprised this place is still around.
Man, I should've waited like six weeks so it could've been exactly 4 years since my last post. Whatever.
