Re: Improving the sound engine
Unfortunately, my PC is not strong enough for bsnes. :| Therefore I deal with ZSNES. Snes9x 1.53 sounds as good as Bsnes (thanks to the Sony SPC700 emulator core) but the system requirements are a lot more lenient. You could try that, too. Lavos' scream never sounded better! ZSNES has the best soun...

Ouch. Guess it's Snes9x 1.53 for me.

Re: How safe are VPNs?
Meh. Either way, a free, decent VPN would be nice for at least country-wide ban. I'm not paranoid, but I don't like the idea of having people know where I am and so on. Kinda feels like a violation of privacy.

How safe are VPNs?
I know, a very noobish question to be sure, but the thing of it is, I intend to install a VPN (in this case, Hotspot Shield) so I can access sites without those pesky Google bots gathering my personal information, to download Super Smash Bros Brawl hacks without Mediafire getting stuck in an infinit...

Re: Deciding on whether to get a PSP-3000 or 3DS
Vita's a little too expensive in my opinion (unless I didn't get the one with the crappy 3G), and even then, I'd have to get a game...yeah, it would exceed $300 USD easily. Hopefully the PSVita will have a decent homebrew scene.

Re: Deciding on whether to get a PSP-3000 or 3DS
Actually, just about every PSP is hackable in some way... as for king_harkanian getting rid of his 3DS solely because he can't see 3D... why? :? I've got the HTC Evo 3D, knowing full well I can't see 3D worth a crap. (unless all the games so far are boring, remakes, gimmicks, etc I can understand) ...

Are the 2000 series easier or are the 1000s easier to hack?

Re: Deciding on whether to get a PSP-3000 or 3DS
VA's can be annoying in many JRPGs (*cough* Knights of Ratatosk *cough*), but all I can say is, thank goodness the PS3 version of Star Ocean 4 has the option for Japanese audio. And yes, knowing the language helps, but I like to learn more Japanese vocab from anime and videogames. Still, I'll do som...

Re: Deciding on whether to get a PSP-3000 or 3DS
A PSP sounds more and more tempting, and while I agree that Star Ocean 2's new artwork isn't that great, we can both agree that the voices (especially in battle) aren't the abortive, muffled/overactive voice they once were back in 1999. "PARABORA BEAM!" or ""Shouldn't you run aw...

Deciding on whether to get a PSP-3000 or 3DS
Yep. It's a tough decision to say the least, seeing as I used to have a 3DS last spring, but I traded it in for a PS3. The reason being is due to visual impairment that prevents me from seeing 3D. I know I can turn it off, but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of getting one in the first place? I bou...

Use either Snes9x 1.53 or Bsnes in the mean time, both have excellent sound emulation.

Re: Need to find out something about SPC700 emulation accura
Too bad using youtube isn't a good way to compare Snes emulators (and how they emulate the sound processor) like that, because that would otherwise be a decent way of making people aware. But, it is what it is. I can't expect to change peoples' opinions or preferences on what they like in an emulato...

Re: Need to find out something about SPC700 emulation accura
You mean what HCBaily said about Snes9x 1.53 emulating Seiken Densetsu 3 incorrectly compared to 1.51? Yeah, that confused me, too. I guess his ears aren't fully accustomed to (more-or-less) accurate SPC700 emulation after using 1.51 for so long. Square sure used some funky methods for their sound e...

Re: Need to find out something about SPC700 emulation accura
Thanks for the verification, and that is the sole reason I stopped using Zsnes. It's not because I have anything against the developers, as I find it to be a fairly stable emulator, it's due the fact that the Sony SPC700/Nintendo S-SMP emulation bugged the heck out of me. Hopefully, I can move back ...

Need to find out something about SPC700 emulation accuracy
So, a user started a topic on the Snes9x forums (here http://snes9x.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=5215 ) stating that Seiken Densetsu 3's holy ball and gold goddess statue sound effects were not accurate (stating them to sound "garbled") compared to Zsnes 1.51 or Snes9x 1.51. I then proceeded...

No biggie. I still have Snes9x 1.53 to keep me occupied. (And yes, I was referring to Zsnes' current SPC700/S-SMP emulation).

Awful long time, don't you think? I want to use Zsnes again, I really do, but there's one major bug that prevents me from doing so.kode54 wrote:Please stop bumping this topic.

*Sigh* I guess there's no value in making an apology, huh? Oh, well.
He thinks I insulted Bsnes, when I clearly didn't.
