Made dumb change in ATI Catalyst, can't revert
Basically, I changed the 'desktop area' or something along those lines to a resolution my monitor cannot handle. I thought it would change the desktop viewing area so that I could scroll around a larger area but still have the 1280x1024 screen resolution. Yes, it was pretty stupid and I should have ...

If this is true, and WeaponLord is hardpatched, then the xband related bytes (i.e. IPS), can be retrieved from inside the rom. If a good dump doesn't contain such data, maybe an Overdump does, but again that's really a wild guess. Unless some romhacker check it, we can't say if it's real internal s...

I think you are missing the point somewhat. If the patch data is always downloaded from the master server and it is not stored in any permanent form of storage such as SRAM, then there is no point. What is there to dissect if we have no data to look at? If they did, then only the original developer...

Well, the more important issue really is.. where is the ROM patch data stored. If it is stored on the XBAND cart or whatever, then extracting the patch data is probably feasible (it may be an idea to get a romhacker to do this). If it is not, then it is actually pointless. It's probable considering...

If the versions are incompatible, they'll make a connection but they'll be informed of the version mismatch. The ROM select + chat screen only appears after they connect. There's not much left to say but if you got a firewall enabled whether it's XP's or a commerical one, you should make an exceptio...

I'm guessing this is the stuff you're after. http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/33/romregim8.png Those are for 'Map Mode 21' / HiRom / whatever the accepted name for it is. For 'LoRom' they appear in the ROM 8000h earlier. There's a dev manual below that covers it. http://www.romhacking.net/docs/SFC...

There's a good chance that the head ache is used in the context of irritating. You know that cave stage in DKC1 where you got that parrot (Squaks or something) holding the flash light and also that DKC2 stage where you have the angler fish illuminating your path? Everytime you switched direction a b...

Add another vote for a MAME sticky. That last release was amazing and it really deserves to be acknowledged. Virtua Racing is perfectly playable and even for someone who hasn't played it much in the arcade it's great to see it emulated and there's plenty of others who would agree. The model 2 progre...

You might want to clear that up because I don't think anyone will get much sense out of that post. If you mean writing to tile maps, then the Increment mode of 32 words will help alot. You can write to a column of tile map entries in succession because each row of entries happens ot be 64 bytes long...

The most ideal scenario is if there is ONE net play lobby service that's popular. I think someone brought up the issue of fragmenting the already small community when another client for netplay was put out. That's exactly what I thought when I read the topic title... I don't usually take sides with ...

I don't know why you would think they can't. The copier can read whatever is adressable on the SNES busses. The SNES can read that data and so can a copier. ... Makes me wonder what I was saying...Sorry for the misinformation. Shouldn't have let that stick while reading about screwy hardware. Cart ...
