ZSNES board

I was playing Super Mario RPG on ZSNES and I saved the game using the in -game save feature. When I went back the next day to try to play, the new saves were gone and only an old save from an earlier game remained. No idea what happened or why my new saves weren't there. Is there any way to get them...
