Re: 20 Years of Super Mario World, and the Super Famicom
it's entirely possible to finish the game by playing only 12 levels. Make that 10 stages + Bowser's Castle. Yoshi's Island # 1 and the Yellow Switch Palace are not required. I use a blue shell and Yoshi to reach the key in the third Star Road stage. [nevermind, I forgot about one of the star road l...

Re: 20 Years of Super Mario World, and the Super Famicom
- a 'shortcut' in vanilla fortress iirc where you could only go if you were small mario (or TASing) I remember such a short cut being in Bowser's Ghost House. I believe the ghost house one requires (Or doesn't make alternate methods apparent) you to fly up while ducked and then jump repeatedly thro...

Re: Nakitek Game Saver+
I'm interested to find out what the codes do. Does it have something to do the game's memory map? (HIROM, LOROM, SRAM, ...) If one of you devs can see a correlation, maybe it will be possible to know the codes for newer games that aren't on the list. Can't really say from a quick glance. 5 hex digi...

Nakitek Game Saver+
I bought this Nakitek Game Saver+ from Wal-mart Sept 29, 1998 for $10 after it had been in a clearance section for months and they were down to only a few units. I remember taking it apart once and seeing a chip made by Bung (former manufacturer of console backup devices). Is anyone curious how this...

Re: 20 Years of Super Mario World, and the Super Famicom
Yea, SMW's secret exits concept is awesome. Most recent games don't have anything like that. Although, when talking about hacks, you mention how you find it bad when you need to be in a specific state to pull something - the original SMW had that too: - a 'shortcut' in vanilla fortress iirc where y...

There's an element of truth to most fiction. I'm sure the author was intrigued by real event glitches due to a corrupted save, then got carried away and embellished the fuck out of the "story."

Re: You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?
I had a Doctor V64 back in the day and I sorta know what caused the glitchy cut scenes and events. The Doctor V64 is a device from Hong Kong that connects to the N64 and uses RAM to simulate ROM, allowing you to dump and play N64 ROMs; even before usable software emulators existed. If I recall corre...

I keep getting to the last boss (Joker) in "Batman."
Still can't beat that fucker.
Just the other day, I completed Ninja Gaiden on Nestopia. Didn't use save states.

This forum looks TERRIBLE on a wide-screen monitor.
I have about 20 tabs open, so I keep my browser maximized. Most PHPBB forums put pillars on the side to make it usable on a wide-screen monitor.
At 1920x1200, the board isn't very usable.

Is there a backup archive of threads from 2006?
I tried my hand at trolling once and invented this guy: http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB3/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=104870 If I recall correctly, I was quite successful and my intended "target" fell for it (hook, line, sinker). My memory might be distorted. There's an "obvious...
