Re: Need MAJOR help with my ZSNES emulator
Star Ocean (and most other games) work better with Snes9x 1.52 anyway (which it looks like you also have). Snes9x's interface will also probably be easier for you to use.

Re: AMD & NV drivers - now with OpenGL 4.1 + OpenCL 1.1 supp
Like the look of the new CCC, shame that I switched back to NVIDIA though. AMD won't update my laptop drivers as the hardware is considered depreciated even though it supports DX9 and Aero.

Re: nVidia DualView - HDTV/PC monitor config
Heh, just read this thread properly and realised this is an identical issue to what I had with my Nvidia card and HDTV a week ago that I solved myself by using a VGA cable instead of using HDMI, as others have already stated. Its that simple.

Re: Decent Cable Wireless Router Recommendation
Yep, its most likely the same cheapo Netgear wireless G router from Virgin. Its alright for plugging into with an Ethernet cable and in a small house, but the wireless reception isn't great everywhere in our house (essentially a modern built brick semi that has been extended to have 6 bedrooms, thre...

Re: Decent Cable Wireless Router Recommendation
I think I'm going to go for the D-Link DIR-655. The wireless traffic in this area is relatively low and restricted to channels 1 and 6, so I should be okay using 2.4GHz. This may restrict my firmware options, but it seems to be my best bet for loading multiple devices.

Re: Decent Cable Wireless Router Recommendation
Sounds good. I've been doing some research into boosting WiFi signal and managed to boost it considerably using a program inSSIDer to detect which channels neighbouring WiFi signals are operating on, changing the security type to a better method, and moving the router further away from a cordless ph...

Decent Cable Wireless Router Recommendation
Hi guys, I'm a bit out of the loop as to which Wireless Router would be best for me, what with the new standards that have come in recently. I am currently living in a house share that will house myself and 5 others, so I'm going to need a router that is: a) reliable. The house is well insulated, so...

Re: the bugged Zelda-AlttP walking-stairs-up/down-sound
The way ZSNES was coded originally means that adding any features, even pretty simple ones (like rearranging options in the GUI), is not a trivial task at all, often requiring high skill and patience. A lot of ZSNES was written in x86 ASM - while excellent for speed in the early DOS days, isn't so o...

Re: Support for 7z files
Well, ZSNES actually has a format implemented already that surpasses even 7zip specifically designed around the SNES ROM format, called JMA. If you need the extra space or want to archive your collection, JMA is a good format to use. You can load the game in ZSNES straight from the JMA file too.

Re: Sound problems.
I'd suggest trying out bsnes. The sound core is rock solid. ZSNES 2.0 is going to take a while to complete, while bsnes already should do the job, albeit with much higher system requirements at the moment.

Yep. I would definitely pay more attention to real tests such as on sites such xbitlabs do, and subjective tests, than the marketing spiel you get from the manufacturers.

Re: Problem with video
Oh, that's a different kind of problem then. It might be to do with how your new computer's graphics drivers auto-interpolate the screen compared to your old computer, producing a subjectively worse image. If that is the case, then you might want to make sure that you are using a D video mode, if I ...

Re: Hard Drive Education
I'm still not sure about jumping on the SSD bandwagon as yet. The real-world performance increases are indeed enormous, but the tech still doesn't seem that mature yet. It seems every month there's a better controller with even better performance and durability, but I guess that goes with everything...

Re: Problem with video
Well, if you mean what I think you mean, this is due to the low resolution of the original image, so when it is stretched, it will appear to be more blocky (or if you use standard interpolation, more blurry) than the original. Kind like when you increase the size of a small bitmap in Paint or MS Wor...

Yeah, redownload from one of the links listed in the thread below: http://www.snes9x.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=4542 Yep, Snes9x 1.52 is a bit ahead of the latest stable ZSNES SVN build, especially in terms of sound and compatibility, particularly with certain special chip games. Overall, its a good...

Re: nullDC Project over with source released
Yep, N64 emulation is most definitely plugin hell. The problems with ePSXe's plugins for me tends to be setting them up correctly for certain games, such as framebuffer settings and special fixes. Which plugin you use tends to be more dependent on the hardware you have.

nullDC Project over with source released
The nullDC project is over, however, the source code has been released on Google Code, so developers may be able to clean it up. By the authors own admission, there are plenty of errors in the code. We saw how Dolphin really picked up when the source was released, so the same could happen to nullDC....
