CAN'T play online, last hope!!!

CAN'T play online, last hope!!!
I'm using Zbattle to connect with ZSNES. I have tried evertything; disabled all internet protection, configured port forwarding, tried ZSnes 1.42 and Zsnes 1.36. What do i have to do???????
I can connect to zbattle but when I try play, all i got is
waiting for server..... or waiting for client.........
help help help!

More information woud be extremely helpful.
What kind of connection is the other person using?
Do they have a router?
Is their router configured for port forwarding?
Are you sure the port forwarding is configured correctly on your's? Theirs?
Are you using TCP or UDP? Do the settings on both ends match?

also, to use TCP, I believe you check the use TCP instead of UDP option. However, it's been awhile since I netplayed, so I forgot. D:

In ZSNES, open the netplay menu and uncheck the box that says "use UDP instead of TCP".
I suggested it because ports below 1024 are usually allowed by ISP's that may otherwise block higher ports. If that doesn't work, then something is majorly wrong with his PC or ISP.

As far as I know, 80 and 25 would be blocked by certain ISP's, 25 being spam reasons (this is the port for SMTP) and 80 is probably because, well, maybe they don't want people running http servers off port 80. D:
