zsnes win / xbox save file compatibility?

Post by slickdoody »

I'm new to the emulation world, so please forgive me if the answer to my question is obvious...

I've been playing thru FF3 in zsnes under windows. I saved my game and would like to pick up where I left off on my xbox. I have zsnes xbox 1.4 loaded on my xbox hard drive, but when I run FF3, it acts as if there are no save files, it just rolls thru the credits and into a new game.

Along with the emulator, I transferred all of my rom files including a FF3.zst, .srm, .zs1 and .zs2. Is that all I need? Do these files need to be in a different directory than the actual rom itself?

XBox needs it's save files stored somewhere special. I think it's documentation covers this.

All ZSNES ports use save states in the same format. Unless the XBox port has something broken, it should be fully compatible.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

Awesome. Thanks so much for the help. I'll check the xbox port docs when I get home.

srm files go in the:

E:\ZsnexBox\sram folder

zst files go in the:

E:\ZsnexBox\save folder

Games can be anywhere. The game name must match the srm and zst file.
