I'm running the ZSNES v 1.36 WIP and in some games (Front Mission 2, Shin Megami Tensei 2) the brightness of the game is really low at some points. At first I just thought it was the game and was supposed to be that dark, but when i pressed escape to go to the GUI I noticed that i could see stuff where the screen was black. I've tried looking through all the options to try and fix it, but I had no success. I mean teh games are playable, but some things are just really dark (like the opening text in SMT2 is unreadable, and the virtual simulator is completely dark). Would this be a video card problem or a graphical setting problem?
Also I tried seeing if it did the same thing in SNES9x, and it did. Could the problem be the translation patches? I didn't apply them directly, just used the built in feature of ZSNES.

Re: Problems with brightness
If it does the same thing in Snes9x, it's likely that it's your video card setup.tbone wrote:I'm running the ZSNES v 1.36 WIP and in some games (Front Mission 2, Shin Megami Tensei 2) the brightness of the game is really low at some points. Graphics: Trident Blade 3D MVP4
OS: Windows 98 SE
DirectX: I think its 8.1, but I don't know how to confirm it
Processor: AMD K6 500 Mhz Processor
RAM: 64 MB
Also I noticed that the computer thinks I have two monitors hooked up, but I only have one. I tried to remove one of them, but as soon as I restarted it it reinstalled it

are you sure your monitor even works right? i have a monitor that "works" but everything shows up WAY darker than they should be, and it IS because of the monitor and not a driver. dunno about yours
The board is cursed, and so am I.

Yeah I keep the monitor brightness at max neways, but I'll try updating to DirectX 9.0c
*edit*
I dl'ed DirectX 9.0c , but it didn't solve the problem
*edit 2*
Is there any way to change gamma for zsnes only? I figured out how to change the gamma settings and bumped it up, then the stuff was visible. But every other program and my desktop looked really bright. So is there like a way to change the gamma settings for just zsnes?
