FreeDos 1.0 issues with IBM 300 PL (drivers)
I recently downloaded the distribution and installed it. However ZSNES won't even start and I'm also having sound card and video card issues. Everything worked fine when I had windows but I had to erase it because it was copied from someone. I don't want WareZ on my PC. I remember back in the day I used SciTech Display doctor. I don't remember how to get the usb mouse, network card, or any other devices running. Can someone help? I used to be a pro at DOS back in High School. I forgot a lot of things.

This is where I disagree with Piracy.
Those systems are obsolete and I don't agree with Nintendo. As far as Microsoft is concerned; they're cracking down on their pirated OSs and I just don't want anything to do with Microsoft. Plus Sega and Hudson don't make systems anymore.
What about ZSNES crashing my computer after loading a ROM???

You may be able to find a stripped down version of SDD floating around the internet as univbe.exe, which works well and was bundled with a boatload of games back in the day. It basically just provided the VESA 2.0 extensions without all of the other crap that SDD did.
The Logitech mouse driver works with USB mice on many systems, I believe.
Or you could install Linux or Windows 98, which is now obsolete, according to Microsoft.

What about sound?
It works when I play Doom 2 but for nothing else. I don't get it. How can I get the driver from Doom 2 to work for all of DOS?

Try the drivers listed here.sargonious wrote:It works when I play Doom 2 but for nothing else. I don't get it. How can I get the driver from Doom 2 to work for all of DOS?

I reinstalled DOS and Set Blaster Variables.
Sound and Video are fine. My mouse is working with the USB to Mouse port adapter. How do I set the volume in DOS mode? It is working but it is very faint.
