The following are the system requirements for additional platforms supported by the Flash Player 9 Update Linux beta.
Hardware—Adobe has tested the Flash Player 9 Update beta for Linux extensively on the following minimum hardware configurations:
* Modern Processor (at least 800 MHz)
* 512MB of RAM
* Alsa Sound Architecture (OSS/ESD will not play audio; audio will silently fail.)
* Graphics Memory (128MB)
Is it just me or are those requirements a little steep?
i would care to say that thos requirements roughly equal that of whats needed to view most flash animations without much loss of performance... on windows.

Yeah, that's bullshit.
I have a 800MHz P3, less RAM, and onboard video and everything works fine so far, more or less. I can't fullscreen youtube videos without them looking like slideshows, but that's no big deal.
