OK..here I go..I tryed calling Motorola to help me with port forwarding but they arent allowed to give any info on that, so here I am. Hopefully you guys can help me fill out my routers config properly as its kind of confusing for me.
Heres how my hardware is setup:
Phone cord > DSL modem > wireless router > PC
Now since I have DSL, my IP is "obtained automatically", NOT static....I dont know if this is relevant to working with zsnes but whatever...moving on..
I completly would post screen shots of my config, but atm, I dont have any imaging program that will do that so I will type it out for you...
Problem
My router's config, which is pretty neat and convienient looking, has 2 different sections which, (I think?) are both relevant in this situation...
One section is Port Triggering and the other is Virtual Server
(both dealing with, what looks like, the same thing.)
OK now im going to type out what it gives me for both pages. I will use "[ ]" to show where the space to fill in is.
We'l start with Virtual Server
Virtual Server Name: [ ]
Incoming Protocol : [TCP] OR [UDP] <---I choose
Incoming Port : [ ]
Forwarding IP : 192.168.10.[ ]
Forwarding Port : [ ]
And the other section is Port Trigger
Port Trigger Name: [ ]
Outgoing Protocol: [TCP] OR [UDP]
Outgoing Port: [ ]
Trigged Incoming Protocol: [TCP] OR [UDP]
Incoming Port: [ ]
And thats that...if anyone could fill these out for me, thatd be awesome...cuz BOTH the ladies at Motorola didnt want to...btw, one led me to triggering sec. and the other to Virtul Server sec..so yeah..they are as lost as me.
And finally, do I need to give people on zbattlenet my public ip if they want to connect? or would the one it automatically gives be ok?
ANy help would be awesome. thanks

"ZSNES"
Incoming Protocol : [TCP] OR [UDP] <---I choose
Most routers give you the option to choose "Both" or "TCP and UDP". If this does not, create two entries, one named "ZSNES TCP" and the other named "ZSNES UDP". Forward the same ports for each, but make sure you cover both protocols by selecting "TCP" for the first and "UDP" for the second.
Incoming Port : [ ]
It's in the docs...
Forwarding IP : 192.168.10.[ ]
Your computer's current IP as reported by Start > Run > "CMD" [OK] > "IPCONFIG" [Enter]
Forwarding Port : [ ]
Same as incoming.
Need a new sig...
