720x576 for TV Out

Post by StarSyn »

Hi!

It would be amzing if you would add an 720x576 fullscreen mode so that me and my sis can enjoy Snes:ing on TV-out with no borders =)

As it is now, all the resolutions have borders, even though my Nvidia driver supports 720x576 (which is overscan)... The emulator changes the resolution once it's started in fullscreen, so I can't keep it at 720x576 :(

Would be a dream come true if you fixed this, or anyone know a good "work-around"?

Btw, thanx for your GREAT work on this emu =)

Regards

AFAIK, The borders are used so the games have the true Snes resolution. I might be wrong though.

720*480 might not be a bad idea to add.

Uuuh :) ?

You're most likely wrong.

The borders are present only on the TV. Not on the monitor.

This is due to the nvidia geforce drivers that do not allow for any overscan unless the resolution is 720x576 (That's PAL/Europe... NTSC is prolly 480 as someone here stated.)

So if the makers of this emu would add that res, then all people with nvidia cards (the majority of people?) would be able to play snes on tv with overscan :D

Allthough they would of course need to scale the graphical portion of the screen down a bit, to fit.

An alternative solution for this would be if NVidia added a feature to their drivers to allow us to zoom the tv picture in/out in both x and y. But i'm realistic and doubt it will ever happen as they, as every MAJOR corp, never listen to what their customers want.

(As opposed to smaller corps, like the Snes Emu team :)

You have an Nvidia card, just get TVTool!

It already will do what you are asking.
