Way to convert SNES9x save for use with ZSNES?

Post by casualsax3 »

Hi all,

I've done a bit of googling but have come up empty thus far. I was playing through that new Chrono Trigger hack on my PSP, but got to the part that doesn't work with SNES9x - so now I want to pick up there with another emulator, either with a save state or with the built in save. Possible?

SRAM saves should be universal; just try copying the file over (and adjust the filename if necessary).
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

Well, depending on what OS you're using, Vista will show the extensions on default but for XP go to tools -> folder options -> view I believe and enable Show File Extensions for known file types, or something like that. Since you can't seem to use them after having them on the PSP, see what the extension is, and if it isn't .srm change it to that, it SHOULD work. I've never used the PSP hack to use emulators on it, so I'm not too sure.

It is an srm file, but ZSNES just seems to ignore it and start me off at the beginning of the game.

Does it work in your OS's version of SNES9X? (I know this won't solve your problem, but if the SRAM file won't work there I wouldn't expect it to work with ZSNES either.)

SRMs are interchangable.
So I'm betting it's in the wrong place, or you've mismatched the file names.

Didn't even look at the username. I'd've kept my mouth shut if I had, since you already know the basic stuff.

Ah! It seems that there's an "export save to SNES9x" option in the PSP save menu. I've been able to load the save in SNES9x on my PC, then load it in ZSNES, get past the part in the ROM that makes SNES9x shit itself, save it, then load it up again on the emulator. Phew.
