snes game

Post by darklink »

There is a snes game that I can not figure out what the name is. In the beginning of the game you have to find a dagger. Once you get the dagger you get attacked by wolves. The next area is a valley that has skeletons in it. After that is a village but it is burned... I can't remember any more... That should be right so far. There was a cave in it I think there was some kind of item at the end... And the valley... There was a key for it in some other place... There was still someone in the burned down village and he wants the item in the cave... This is driving me nuts! Can someone name this game?

I'm no expert, but you could be thinking of "Super Gouls and Ghosts"
Hardware means nothing if you don't have good software.
Compare the success of SNES over Genisis

... just how is that Ghouls and Ghosts? There are no items to pickup in this game that you need to advance, and there are absolutely NO NPCs that aren't monsters in there either.
And sorry, I've no idea what this game is. Elaborate a bit, was it in english or japanese? Was it a platformer, or was it heads up display?

It sounded like you could be were talking about Lord of the Rings until the skeletons, I haven't played that a lot or in a long time, so what do I know.

You mean top-down view right? HUD usually refers to the parts of the screen where things like score and remaining health and ammo is displayed.

He is right it was not super ghosts and ghouls... And I think it did have a HUD display. It was in English because I don't know Japanese ( So I stuck with the English copy  ) You fight alone... There is a old man in the village... Which lead me to lord of the rings but that can't be it because in the beginning there is no "alone" part... I have searched over and over and over for this game... I really have no idea what this game is... I hope someone can help me.

Castlevania: Dracula X probably isn't it either. But it's as close as anything else.

well excuuuuuuuuse us if you didn't give a more clearer description of the game, and we overlooked this thread because of that and/or other reasons.

this IS a web forum, not a 24/7 tech support service, let alone IRC. Deal with it.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

The SNES had thousands of games. This board has a few dozen regulars, maybe less. If the title you played wasn't at least of average quality, then it is hit and miss whether someone else has even heard of it.

You don't even remember what the main character looks like? Have you tried looking at a list of all games and seeing if any of the names jog your memory? What region are you in, Europe/Australia or USA? Was it something you played from the cart or in emulators?

Sounds like Super Mario World..

At a minimum you'd have to tell us the category (e.g. Jump n' run / RPG).
If it's the latter: Were the fights round-based or in realtime?

shut up, moron.

you come in asking us to drudge up your memories for you, when you can't even remember what kind of game it was?

did you try reading your "description?" how can anybody possibly identify that game? you have got some ridiculous expectations if you expect people to identify a game where you can't even be bothered to say what genre it fits in.

"dur, i played this game, and there was a cave with an item in it.

what? you can't tell me what it is? you guys suck!"

idiot.

For any game you want to identify, you need to be more specific.. seriously. Don't bother if you can't remember specific details.

... It would be an AWESOME coincidence, and also an incredibly ANNOYING one if the game was actually BLACK TIGER.
You fight with annoying weapons, get annoying daggers and blast annoying dragons AFTER THEY BURNED A PHREAKING VILLAGE WHERE ONLY AN OLD MAN SURVIVES AND SELLS YOU SHIT. I played this crap when I was really small (hell, I didn't even OWN an Nes), and it wasn't until it appeared on ScrewAttack's Video Game Vault recently that I connected the dots.

Please, be as kind as to tell me if this is the game.

That's an arcade game. I actually might know what game he's talking about, but I'll need to check it tomorrow when I get back to my own computer...

I know, but it fits so well, heck, I thought I had actually played it on Genesis until I saw it again.

Might be Equinox? You have to get a dagger at the beginning of that, but I can't even be bothered to play past that for some kid who doesn't even appreciate our help in his vague quest for some shitty game...

That and I don't like the 3/4 display. Not handled well at all... it's no Mario RPG.

EDIT: Also, the Black Tiger video is awesome. Thanks for that.

I am sorry you took it the wrong way... It wasen't an RPG, you can't jump, it was a lot like lord of the rings but you don't have someone following you around, the game was not an arcade game because I never had one in my room before (-_-), the game is not 3d so it can't be equinox, and I am sorry I can't remember a lot about this game. I used to rent a lot of games back then... I played quite a few games... And I am in USA.
