Good (not a crappy) internet filter

Place to talk about all that new hardware and decaying software you have.

Good (not a crappy) internet filter

Post by neo_bahamut1985 »

Okay, the administrator discussed to me that there needs to be an internet filter. She suggested Blue Coat K9 (which is free). While it does a decent job block crap like porno, it blocks websites that are perfectly safe (such as www.emutalk.net or something) and makes places profile/album like www.facebook.com completely disappear (even though the .jpeg setting is on in the IE Advanced settings). Are there any filters that DON'T disable pictures or at least let you vew pictures on sites you override? What're some good overall filters (excluding MaxProtect)?

its good dude. read up on liability and find out why you'd want to limit your school's exposure to it

- Yes, but don’t change the subject.

well, seemed to have come to a compromise and places like youtube, etc load perfectly. In fact, most the time I don't even notice that the filter is on, oh, and this isn't at school.
