We're gonna burn your mother after crucifying her, we'll see what you say then.

How dumb do you have to be to remember that sort of stuff out of this masterpiece ?
But enough talk! Have at you!

This is rhetorical, btw.

Castlevania on the PSX is one my favorite games, and I actually own a copy of the original Japanese version.
When Konami released the US and Europe version of this game, of course the gameplay was the same, but it was disappointing to get poorly acted dialogs, a few mistranslations here and there ("Tonfas" are not "nunchakus") and an ugly title screen on a game that deserved better than that.

The dub is HARDLY as bad as people make it to be.
Ignoring Richter, it's actually a decent job. Which is rather surprising given it was a last-minute change.

(Konami wasn't intending to redub it, and had confirmed with SCEA that it was okay to release with japanese speech. Then SCEA changed their minds right at the end of the localization cycle.)

And the TITLE SCREEN? Really, you're reaching here.
If you don't like the Castlevania logo, just say so. Don't rant about how Konami fucked up the US title screen because they used the US Castlevania logo on it.

Alucard's voice actor does begin to suck when he gets ultra dramatic.

That said, I do like the way he deliver Alucard's final line.

See, Dracula's voice actor makes the overdone dialog WORK.

Wahts the issue for "have at you!". From what little I know, it is actually proper ancient slang for dueling someone.

I've always wondered why that seemingly random combination of words is somewhat synonymous to "En garde!"
Does anyone know?

Go for all the secrets !

No sweat if you miss some on the first go, the game's short enough to enjoy a replay or two.
