I got a DVD from the library that I can't get to play. My laptop (Vista) and Desktop (gentoo Linux) reads the label as Dolphin, and calls it a DVD-ROM. My Sony DVD player says it's not a playable DVD. Something about looking for audio tracks, of which it found none.
There are 5 files on the disc, checksum.chk, 148157.1.esg, CONTROL.DAT, MAIN.DAT, and DDPID.
The MAIN.DAT file is about 4 GB.
I haven't been able to find any useful information about any of these problems.
Anyone have any ideas?

Re: unplayable DVD
Uh, that sounds like a master copy, which is meant to be used for replication on DVD pressing devices. I don't know why a public library would have something like that.jdratlif wrote:I got a DVD from the library that I can't get to play.
