Hey Gil, correct me if I'm wrong, but with windows XP and possibly Vista (especially) wouldn't you need to re-activate anyway because the board changed?

as well as if you use an OEM windows XP (which I hope you didn't bahamut, otherwise you're an idiot) you'd need to buy a new windows anyhow?
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Reinstalled XP and originally it was still giving me the STOP: 0x0000007E code, so, experimented by taking out sticks of RAM and eventually pinpointed it to x2 512MB modules the motherboard didn't like, so right now, it's working infinitely better.

run it on each stick individually, then put both sticks in at the same time. The motherboard might like the memory but not as a pair.

I'm using Windows XP Home OEM, and have changed motherboards at least 3 times now, I have to call MS every time I activate, but I've never been blocked from activation. I get maybe 1 online activation every blue moon... and they don't occur that often which is annoying :/

Why not make your own XP disc and integrate AntiWPA into it....Solves that issue entirely.....

I just know that when one or two of the 512MB sticks is in there, it will not complete post, much begin the boot process into XP. It started to work once they were taken out and just the 2048MB stick was in. After that, it worked.

I'm sorry if I annoyed people, but thats the only way to solve that issue.

Indeed, since legal solutions tend to screw the consumer over. Which is certainly isn't helping the case for going legit all the time (convenience, as well as other factors). That said, on my legal XP install, I had zero issues with activation.

Why integrate potentially problematic software into my Windows XP when it is not needed? it's still easier to crack Vista then it is XP anyways :/ side effect of Microsoft trying to make Vista "good" ^_^

I beg to differ. Some Vista methods require a convolted driver, while XP just needs a binary patch to one file. And you could slipstream the modified file into the XP install disc so.....

Vista, you load VistaLoader 3.0.0.1 and click a logo, your now running a fully activated copy of a OEM Vista. works fine with x64, x86 and Service Pack 1. works on all editions of Vista too.
