Looking for a new gamepad
So, I was thinking of maybe getting a new gamepad with some money I got for Christmas ($60.00) and was wondering what would be a good one to get. I'm planning on using this for my PC (emulators mostly, like SNES, N64, PS2, etc). What are some good ones out there. Or at least one that can properly emulate PS2 dual analogue sticks?
Edit 7:41PM Is this any good? http://www.ishopvideogame.com/pc035-psp ... p-129.html

I have a PSX -> USB converter from radio shack, it works (make sure you get the all black one and NOT the blue box one with the light on it)
XBox to USB modded controller with XBCD drivers works too

<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Do you have a radioshack near you? You could try going there.neo_bahamut1985 wrote:Hmm...their website doesn't seem to have any after typing in psx to usb. Any other websites?
Either that or they've stopped carrying them.

The Logitech Rumblepad 2 is remarkably like a DualShock controller, including the buttons under the analog sticks. If you care about rumble or force feedback support, you may be less likely to run into trouble with a native PC controller than one of those adapters.

I liked the Saitek P880 and although this is not the P880, I'd still recommend Saitek.
btw Kode, there's even a Saitek rumble force pad apparently based off the P990.

This. Just this. It's excellent. The digital pad might take some getting used to though, but it's no big deal (to me anyway).kode54 wrote:The Logitech Rumblepad 2 is remarkably like a DualShock controller, including the buttons under the analog sticks. Yeah, there's a radio shack about a mile or so away from where I live, so, I'll do some comparing. Reason I brought this up is I was looking for a controller that can make it possible to use dual analogue sticks on PCSX 2. The issue with a lot of pads is that, although the analogue "goes" in 360 degrees, the analogue stick itself looks like it's almost in a square.

Yeah, the dpad is too tall (it sucks for me, seriously) also the handles are too fat (I really love Dual Shock shape) and the rubber on them isn't such a great idea. The cavity in the 1, 2, 3 and 4 buttons area isn't comfortable, but that's me though. Equivalents of L2 and R2 are a little more accessible than in DS, analogs are a bit different in shape (details), but move very similarly. Vibrations work only after installing the drivers and are of a good quality. If neo_bahamut doesn't mind these differences from DS (or flaws), then I can recommend it.Agozer wrote:This. Just this. I think this one's close to the radio shack one: http://sewelldirect.com/playstaion-cont ... medium=cse And looks like it'll do...maybe.

It's not the adaptor I was talking about, but that looks like it'll do. Hell there's two ports on one adaptor, awesome for some good ol' fashioned PS2 feel.

Either way works for me; if it costs anyway from $15-$35, that's fine with me. I have $60.00 I can just impulse on. If it's too cheap (like less than eight dollar), it's probably a POS.
Edit 1/5/09 9:14AM, went ahead and ordered that PSX/PS2 adapter..should be here tomorrow.
