Stuck at 5th star on Super mario Rpg cause of frozen game.

OKAY,so im playing through the game and its been freezing while i equip,but i managed to get around this by doing it quickly.
BUT now after getting the 5th star,the star goes up,it goes in the circle of stars,and then it starts spinning around simultaneously with the other stars for about 10 spins,and then they all stop.i have no button control,no way to exit,and no way to continue.i tried loading the save state into another one,and re played the last couple of minutes before that happened,but still frozen at that one exact spot,can someone help me?

If you are using the latest of 1.50 version of ZSNES, don't. SA-1 games are more or less broken; random freezes and a host of other issues. IIRC, use 1.42.

Yes, your save will work provided that you've save in-game and did not use savestates
