Getting Clock Tower to work
Ok, I have an NSRT verified rom of Clock Tower, plus Gideon Zhi's translation patch. However, even with a header or without a header, I have had not sucess at getting the translation patch to work. Am I missing something?
<pagefault> i'd break up with my wife if she said FF8 was awesome

Does ZSNES show "IPS" when you load the ROM?
Black screen, or are the screens the same as the unpatched ROM?
Tried hard-patching? (Lunar IPS etc.)
Tried another emulator?

It doesn't. The ips is not loaded (and the rom left untouched) for whatever reason, even after a name change.creaothceann wrote:Does ZSNES show "IPS" when you load the ROM?
I'm kinda stumped as to what could cause this. (i.e. it's not any of the classic stuff)

The issue has been found. ZSNES tries to open '<romname>.ips', which is case sensitive on unix.
The patch extension was in caps.

That was unnecessary.Gil_Hamilton wrote:LOL U R NOOB!1111badinsults wrote:Come on, I am the freaking administrator of this board. Let's make some assumptions, such as me knowing how to soft patch the game.
There was no way I could know he was the administrator other than looking at his post count, which I know some people get faked, but either way, I am just saying it might've been a possibility. Even the best ones make simple mistakes sometimes.
And in a way, I was right, the file names didn't match on Linux.

I was making a joke about badinsults starting a "noob" thread, not about you not knowing his long, proud(?) history.alyxx wrote:That was unnecessary.Gil_Hamilton wrote:LOL U R NOOB!1111badinsults wrote:Come on, I am the freaking administrator of this board. If I were taking a shot at you, I would've directed it AT you.
I admit I DID smile at the "basic troubleshooting" response, but didn't feel the oversight was worth commenting on, especially as you HAVEN'T been around long enough to know who's who(and some of the oldies have changed screen names a time or two anyways, so what's new today might be old yesterday).

You're also not used to the rough love zboarders tend to develop with other fellow members.

Assuming badinsults didn't join in the hide-the-admins game..alyxx wrote:I'm not saying it's fake, I am just saying it's possible, and his member title does not give me any hints he is an admin. And who bothers visiting profiles these days?
next time you check the users online option, and you see badinsults in the list. his name will be colored yellow to indicate he is an admin.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

I wouldn't be too surprised if that was pagefault. I don't remember clearly who that was, really.Gil_Hamilton wrote:We actually had an admin with a negative post count at one point.alyxx wrote:I'm not saying it's fake, I am just saying it's possible, and his member title does not give me any hints he is an admin.

That seems to be going around. I have the perfect cure though, here, have a Vectrex.
Although don't let it go to your head, having a Vectrex won't make you Lord of the Bored.
