Aeon Genesis has released our own translation of Mystic Ark. The script was translated by Ian Kelley, and most of the hacking was done by Gideon Zhi. The project is several years old and took a lot of effort, so savor it! Take your time going through the game.
As a side note, this *will* work on your SNES. (The D-D version, at present, will not.)

Great work as always.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Congrats on another awesome release, Gideon.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?
NSRT here.

So, just so we are straight, there were two completed Mystic Ark translations released this week by two teams? Do people not talk to each other to see who is doing which games? Seems rather silly to have two groups working on translations of the same game.
<pagefault> i'd break up with my wife if she said FF8 was awesome

This week? No, the last translation was two weeks ago.
Really, the major reason why this one was released so soon is that the other one came out. Gid's project was started long after the original project's site stopped updating, and when they started it again, they were quiet about it. They mentioned stuff was progressing on it, and that a special secret project was almost done. The release came out of nowhere, and obviously said sekrit project was MA.
Theirs also doesn't work on many emulators:

I haven't played either, so I'm not gonna comment on the quality of either translation. I'm just stating the bare facts.

@I.S.T.: Translation quality includes programming along with script translation/localisation and polish.
I am not surprised Gid's work is top notch in that regard.
As the saying goes, "FUCK YEAH ZHI KING"

I was speaking to the quality of the text. I know the hacking's better as it works in more than ZSNES and older versions of snes9x.

Doesn't apply to this case, but...

People have different opinions, see "Kaeru" vs. "Frog".

QFT. D-D wasn't even concerned until I threw a fit about it.

I think RHDN had an effect on that too, FWIW... Check my link.
Not to say you didn't, mind you, just that you weren't the only one complaining.
