windows vista 64 bit irregularities

I have the current build for zsnes (1.51), am running vista 64 bit os with all service packs/updates (in 32 bit mode) and am having a problem. When attempting to run Legend of the Mystical Ninja I can't get past the title (press start) screen. When the appropriate button is pressed the title screen disappears and then inexplicably reloads. The same rom runs just fine on another computer running windows xp 32bit. Other games so far seem to work well on the vista computer. Any takers?

what's the installation path?

does goemon use sram or passwords?

I believe it uses novel-length passwords. I could be wrong, though, since it's probably been 10 years since I last played it, and that was on an actual console which actually necessitated the passwords/whatever.
