speed, is it okay?

in the default controls of the emulator if you press the key above the tab you can speed up your game. i have one question is it okay to do so? can it hurt your cpu? hears a example i'm playing chrono trigger and a long scene comes up so i press the speed up button to help the scene go by a little faster. is it okay to do so?

I imagine if your system normally has bad overheating problems it might be an iissue, other than that, it does nothing special other thanexecute more at a time.
