Hi there,
I am never able to get the boost start when playing Super Mario Kart, using the ZSNES151 emulator. I get the boost start around 80% of the time when playing the same game on my Super Nintendo.
Is ZSNES151 emulation preventing the boost start? Is it the rom I have? Something else?
Looking forward to any help.
Thanks,
Matt

I never had any problem with getting the boost to work on zsnes 1.51 or any other emulator that I've played mario kart on, nor have I heard anything about emulation preventing that from working. I'm guessing it's either your rom or you're not doing it properly.

Could also be display lag throwing your timing off.

This may be totally unrelated but when I play Bowser's Castle 2 (Flower Cup round 4) - after using the 3rd last jump, I always end up overshooting the next platform and landing in the lava. Apparently I am travelling too fast. When I play the same game on my Super Nintendo and use the same jump at full speed, I never overshoot. Anybody got an idea about this?
Looking forward to any help.
Thanks,
Matt

Was a new thread really necessary?
Anywho, it's POSSIBLE that there's an emulation glitch somewhere. Try bsnes and see if your problem goes away.
I'm still betting there's lag somewhere in the IO chain that's throwing you off.
