Re: A Growing Hamachi Server [CLOSED]
you dont need hamachi to play zsnes online. all you need is zsnes 1.42 that can be found on zsnes.com and then go on google and search (my ip) and then use that ip to play with annyone online. i use to use hamachi for vba link. and then i got stuck on an old computer that was incompatible with hamachi and was forced into finding another way to use netplay. and thats wen i found out that google searching (my ip) gives you the ip that allows you to connect to others. i would like to never have to see another hamachi topic now that i know you do not need hamachi for netplay.Ryerye64 wrote:My hamachi server seems like the only one getting buisness...![]()

Re: A Growing Hamachi Server [CLOSED]
A. There's no such thing as a "direct cpu IP"Ryerye64 wrote:Dude. Searching "MyIP" gives you your direct cpu IP which is DANGEROUS to give to others.
B. Your IP address being publicly available is kinda sort-of mandatory for the internet to work. Every single action you take on the internet is accompanied with a broadcast of your IP to a lot of different machines.
Do you actually know what a VPN is? Because you kind of have the security situation completely backwards. A "normal" connection across the internet is SAFER than a VPN connection.Do you even know what Hamachi is? It's an alternate way for LAN servers without using your original IP. If you keep giving your IP out to others your computer could get hacked bro..
You shouldn't invite people onto your Hamachi network that you don't trust, as creating a virtual LAN so they appear to be on a private network rather than the internet bypasses some security.
Basically, what I'm saying is you do not understand how networking works, and your voodoo computing advice is at best providing you and others with a false sense of security.

You actually took my comments to heart and didn't come back arguing about how wrong I was?
That's what I've come to expect from people, and I'm pleasantly surprised.
There's hope for humanity yet!
