Just recently having upgraded my computer, I've found out that ZSNES imposes no upper limit on the fastforward speed whatsoever. Whereas on my old system the speed up was roughly perfect so you could still keep up with what's happening while fastforwarding, on my new system the speed up is like 10x and this, naturally, is kind of disorienting.
What would be cool would be just some kind of an option for maximum speedup allowed during fast forward, as well as an option to impose no limit.
Also, as a side thought... what the heck is up with ZSNES using some 5-6% of cpu time while it's running a game, but the moment I hit esc and bring up the gui, the cpu usage shoots to 100% and stays there, I'm pretty sure I've checked the options that there's nothing enabled that should get that crazy. :P

Congratulations, you found the hardcoded limit to the fast forward feature. Instant 10x frameskip. Speed varies on systems incapable of emulating at 10x realtime with the full 10 frame skip.Doomy wrote:Just recently having upgraded my computer, I've found out that ZSNES imposes no upper limit on the fastforward speed whatsoever.
