Dragon Quest 6 (Deadly Bug) Doesn't anyone know about this??

Hey everyone. I looked EVERYWHERE on the net for info on how to get past this deadly bug and I even looked at every post on this site and there was no info on it at all. I figure maybe because Dq6 is so long and hard to get through that maybe no one who plays on an emulator has gotten this far yet to experience this horrible deadly bug. This terrible bug comes right near the end of the game, well after you fight dogma, but I cannot remember exactly where it is because I have not played the game in years. The bug basically FREEZES the whole entire game and there is no way past it. I tried some other versions of ZSNES, I tried the unpatched rom, and the same bug was in the same spot. Zsnes does not freeze, it's just the rom that freezes...maybe I need another version of the ROM? Does ANYONE know what I am talking about here? I believe the bug comes in the dreamworld right near the last battle of the entire game. You're in a castle or something, and I believe it is Masreal And Krimut and you're about to fight the Zuikaku: 2500 HP & Shoukaku: 4000 HP and basically this is right before the final castle of the game. I wanted to be able to beat this game and then play the bonus dungeon, but I believe when I am going into Masreal's or Krimut's mind I cannot proceed any further, because of this deadly bug. Who has gotten this far or beaten this game on the rom that knows of this bug and knows how to get past it? I'd really appreciate it. It's been years since I played and I want to be able to finally finish this great game (even though I forgot most of it, I still want to beat the bonus dungeon, see the ending, and then play it again from scratch sometime)

You need to tell us some information.
What version of zsnes were you using?
Have you tried the latest work in progress version fromhttp://www.ipherswipsite.com/?
Also... Download NSRT from http://nsrt.edgeemu.com/ and scan your rom with it. This will tell us if you maybe have a bad rom.
Tell us what patch you are using, including the version number.
I know that it is a lot, but it is neccesary for the people here to solve your problem.
You wouldn't happen to have a save state or a game save that could help reproduce the bug?

Thanks for your reply. I do have some save states. Basically I saved right in time before the bug happened, so I don't think it would cause another version to have the same bug, but I believe my problem is the rom actually, but I was using zsnes Ver 1.36 (the newest one that was out for a while) and also 1.17 My rom was 1.0 I believe (why is there a bug in one of the versions of the rom?) and I am using the latest patch by noprgress (the one that has the most translated) I will download that program you told me about, but how do I post a save state here?

PS- has anyone experienced this deadly bug as well, and if not has anyone made it all the way through the game to the ending without experiencing it? I'm just wondering if it's even possible to beat this game on the zsnes.

1.36 is well over two years old. There have been many, many changes since then. Please try it out to see of the problem is still there.
If you want to upload a save state, then you will have to host it somewhere, like geocities, tripod or something. I guess that you could use yousendit.com, it is up to you.
The save state could be very handy in figuring it out.

Hey,
Well I just meant there have not been any releases since 1.36 for a LONG TIME until very recently, they came out with a few new versions. It seems the ZSKNIGHT is in tune with me, because I did not even check for updates except maybe one time until they finally released another version after 1.36

PS- Also I doubt a newer version of zsnes will work because I Tried many different versions already and none of them worked, I figure it's the ROM but someone else must have had this same problem as I did, as I never downloaded any bad roms, I only got them from good sites and they were always good, but this could be an exception.

I also tried to get that program you told me about, but there was no link to download it, and I don't know how to upload files to the internet. I will try though and if anyone knows about this bug, please help.

Can I ask what dodgy means? And its not a scam. Didnt you read the auction? You make money with it, everyone does who participated. It is 100% legal and it involves you putting others on your mailing list who pay you and request it. Try it out, you'll see that it does work, you just need to advertise it to more than 40 people. Make sure to get it to at least 300 people but dont spam. Thanks

Pyramid Schemes are illegal, since this is legal, it could not possibly be a pyramid scheme. Ask Paypal if it's legal or not. It's been around for over 10 years, and has been on oprah, etc. It makes money for people you know?
