Possible SA-1 timing issue

The top line of the "special item box" (um, the "special item" is the BellPower) appears to be shifted over to the right by about eight pixels. It sometimes flickers back into its correct position when a shot connects with an enemy. I first noticed this in the 4/11 WIP, although it should have appeared in the 4/4 WIP because that is when the SA-1 core was last changed. (I never played any games with the 4/4 WIP due to academic obligations.) Since I have no website on which to post screenshots, I have e-mailed a screenshot and savestate to pagefault. I would greatly appreciate it if he would post the screenshot here. The screenshot is in the "deep space" introductory portion of the second level; I'm not sure whether the bug occurs in other parts of the game. The savestate is a little later in the second level but still shows the bug.

My system is a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop with a 1.6 GHz Pentium 4 Mobile processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 32MB Nvidia GeForce2 Go video card, and Windows XP Home Edition with SP2.

I am currently working on better timing for SA-1 games. We shall see if this fixes the problem and go from there.

Correction to description: Whether or not the line flickers back into its correct position is not strictly dependent on the player's fire connecting with an enemy. It's a semi-random issue that seems to occur mainly when there are a lot of enemies onscreen in the "deep space" parts of levels.
