Old Rom Save Files don´t work with lastest ZSNES

Hi! Two days ago I dusted off my old PC in search of my old ROMS and their save files hoping to play them in my new computer. Most of all I wanted to conclude Final Fantasy III (which I never finished). My old save files where from zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator) 1.31B and are in the format of .ZS1, .ZS2, .ZS3, etc.. I downloaded the latest ZSNES and tried to transfer the files to the appropiate folder as I once did eons ago when I wanted to play saved games in other people´s computers. But as you might expect it didn´t work this time. Any suggestions of what can I do to play my old saved games? Help will be greatly appreciated.

Or you download the old version.

Btw. the SRM files should work without problems.
