Super Mario RPG Problem

Post by Daeger »

Alright guys, I'm new to the forum as you can probably tell, and I'm having a major problem with Super Mario RPG. I am indeed using the latest WIP. Here's the problem

When doing trivial things like jumping, or when a dialogue box comes up, a thin part of the top and bottom start to blink. This drives me crazy because in Super Mario RPG, you jump and have dialogue boxes a lot. I've tried using older versions, and I've also tried the -6 switch in the shortcut. Maybe it's the ROM?

Thanks.

Read the bug reporting rules from the Stickies and provide NSRT scan of the rom. Otherwise, we can't help.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

It said ZSNES Talk helped with technical support. And the stickies in this forum made no mention of anything you described. I will look in the bug reporting forum, one second.

Yes, we help with all things with ZSNES, but there is a chance that the rom image is corrupt, so we need as much info as possible, not just "Stuff flickers when I do XY". Then again, it might be a bug in the emulator, which still hasn't been fixed.

All in all, something that looks out of place is usually considered a bug.

Very good. Your rom image checks out, so it's a bug in the emulator itself, possibly in the SA-1 chip emulation. It might take a while to get fixed though, since there are so many other unfixed bugs open over at SourceForge's bugtracker.

Give it some time and you'll see it fixed someday.

It could be worse. ;) I believe a bug that made dialog boxes disappear when you enter an inn was recently fixed.
