Save pick with gamepad?

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

Save pick with gamepad?

Post by Dragn »

Greetings everyone,

I have a question; Is it possible to control the ingame save pick menu with a gamepad? I can access it by setting a button to it, but I can't select any save states with the D-pad (Use JoyPad1 to Control is enabled).
I suppose I could use the increase/decrease save state buttons, but using those with a gamepad is kind of difficult as it keeps increasing/decreasing until the button is released. Sooo, if the first method doesn't work, is there a workaround for the second? :)

Srry if this has been answered before, didn't find it anyware on the forums or in the faq.

JoyToKey

There is great little program called JoyToKey, that converts joystick input to keyboard. You can either set the st+/- keys to keyboard keys, then assign a joystick button to each of them within JoyToKey. Or, you can assign all the keyboard keys to nessicary to navigate the ZSNES menu to joystick button from JoyToKey, and then set these same keyboard keys to control your games within ZSNES.

If you use the dropdown menu options then you can select the savestate with the directional pad.

Oh but...I guess that would need some way to actually get to that menu using the joypad. There is currently no way to do that, I'm not sure what's up with that.

Yeah, JoyToKey is nice, if you don't mind a separate program.

JoyToKey did the trick nicely. Better to take screenshots too, I only get one now in stead of two or three =) Thanks!
