Won't detect Controller.

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

Won't detect Controller.

Post by paulguy »

I just updated to the latest WIP (10/20) and my controller isn't detected by zsnes.

Be sure to check http://www.zsnes.com/ for the latest version.

Use ZSNES -? for command line definitions.

This is a work in progress build. It contains code which
May or may not be complete
ZSNES could not find any joysticks.
That's the output.

I tried disconnecting, then reconnecting the controller and here's what syslog says.
syslog wrote: usb 4-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4
input: USB HID v1.10 Joystick [GreenAsia Inc. USB Joystick ] on usb-0000:00:10.3-1
System specs:
OS: Debian 3.1 unstable (linux)
AMD Athlon 2500+
512MB DDR RAM
nVidia GeForce FX 5200 256MB
Radioshack PSX->USB adaptor

Any help would be deeply appreciated. If anymore info is needed, just ask.

Do you have another gamepad or something you could try? (I mean besides using the psx adapter.)

Sorry, wanst thinking clearly.

Anyway, go Applications>Debian Menu>Apps>System>Kcontrol

In the KDE control center, check joysticks under the peripherals area, and see if you gamepad(s) show in there. If they show in there, try calibrating them.

Nevermind, it's not a ZSNES issue. The joystick device files aren't even there.
