I just realized something. There is a level in TS2 that plays as a homage to the Dam level in Goldeneye, right? Well, after playing some levels of TS3 in hard.. I realized there is a level that plays as a homage to the Datadyne infiltration level in Perfect Dark.
I love Free Radical.

That true, forgot there was a Wii version of it now...snkcube wrote:Since Corronchilejano has a Wii, he might as well get the Wii edition of RE4. It's the best of both worlds (graphics and extras) and you get the better controls.Bent wrote:I am suprised no one has mentioned Resident Evil 4, unless I scanned the thread to fast... Awesome game. Other than that, the Metroid Prime games are the best, as well as Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. The Mario Party games are great for multiplayer.

horrors, has everyone forgotten Waverace:Blue Storm? There is a classic GC racer, also the in flight portions of starfox assault are good if you're a starfox fan. There is also Rouge Squadron III. Geist was also interesting and MK: double dash co-op. There are tons more but they've been said or I can't remember them.us Oh yeah, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

I remember when the GC first came out, my boss (at the time) said he heard the GC was awesome. he claimed you could just buy the GC and the star wars game, and glue the lid shut and you'd be all set to go. I always get the latest nintendo console, so I bought the GC when it came out, along with this star wars game. took it home, played it for maybe an hour tops. fucking returned the GC, the game has since then been lost, and I haven't played a GC since. so I missed out on the whole GC era but I'll make it up with my wii and it's 100% backwards compatibility!!!

Heh, I'm planning on picking up Wave Race: Blue Storm tomorrow. It's $6.99 used at my local Gamestop. It played the original and it's fun. I thought the water physics were pretty top notch.Panzer88 wrote:horrors, has everyone forgotten Waverace:Blue Storm? Some days I read reviews and I have no clue what the reviewers were thinking.
usually on a title that has niche appeal.
Excerpt from a PN3 review:
"The dodge move sucks because it doesn't reflect lasers like Star Fox's barrel roll, so you just slide into the line of fire and get hit."
Ummm, yeah.... I think that's why it's calld a DODGE move instead of a shield?

Well, I used to be really into the PS2 scene last generation. This generation I converted to Wii, now I can enjoy all the Gamecube games I never owned.
On Friday I'm going out to the gamestop and I'm picking up a controller, memory stick and a copy of metroid prime.
I've played Metroid Prime on my friend's cube and loved it I realize it is a must own.
so perhaps I'll but Prime this month, prime 2 next month and then prime 3 the month after.

I absolutely love how the wii had a download for prime 3 preview, I assumed it was a shitty little demo like the metroid that came with the ds. turns out it was some crappy quality vids instead, what a rip off, it looks just like the previous 2 games on the GC.

I seriously hope Retro studios won't fuck up the timeline to all hell, it barely works out as it is...

Discussing a series of bio-computers called Auroras. Lot of people own them, because they're badass.
Has a clip says "Future Aurora complex", and scrolls through the Zebetite hall from Super Metroid Tourian.
Metroid's timeline right now works fairly well IF you ignore Zero Mission(ZM renders Prime impossible, since Samus, like, has no ship to chase the pirates with. It also vaporizes both Old Tourian and the Wrecked Ship areas, making their existence in Super Metroid problematic, to say the least.).

Nah, I thought it works relatively well if you consider it halfassed explosions.Gil_Hamilton wrote:Metroid's timeline right now works fairly well IF you ignore Zero Mission(ZM renders Prime impossible, since Samus, like, has no ship to chase the pirates with. The remains of old tourian seem 'good enough' when you return there in the very same game, so no problem with it, and if you assume the wrecked ship's bomb was pitiful, the structure will hold out. So super metroid just has to retcon the part saying the ship belonged to unknown people.
On the flagship part, point, but you can always say she sold her stuff and pirate pod and bought the other flagship... then detected the frigate's distress signal ? MP1 follows, then she makes some design changes to her ship, which results in the one we see in Echoes/RoS/SM... however if the ship design changed again in MP3 we'll just have to stop caring, I guess. -_-;

Her ship sure looks changed in MP3.
I'm still upset that we never saw a Stunt Race FX sequel for N64 of Gamecube, and now we prolly never will. Also what's going on with Pilotwings? I also hope we see a Wave Race and F-Zero for Wii soon, Nintendo is really dropping the ball with their franchises, I was Nintendo to develop a Starfox for a home console, don't get me wrong Namco is great and all, but I loved Starfox 64 and I want more.
They just don't get it when they have something good, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Metroid, Starfox 64, F-Zero X I mean Nintendo needs to keep making these themselves, not forget about them for a generation, not get some other company like Namco or Sega to make it, but sit down and DO IT THEMSELVES.
end rant.

I liked it, the on-foot missions weren't *that* bad. No star fox 64 though. I got it for 15 dollars, not worth full price.Corronchilejano wrote:It fucking SUCKS.Gil_Hamilton wrote:What was wrong with Assault?snkcube wrote:I thought Amusement Vision (part of Sega) did a fine job making F-Zero GX. Are we playing the same game?Corronchilejano wrote:It fucking SUCKS.Gil_Hamilton wrote:What was wrong with Assault?snkcube wrote:I thought Amusement Vision (part of Sega) did a fine job making F-Zero GX. Was it like PokeMon, and there a "StarFox Assault: ReallySpiffy Version" and a "StarFox Assault: Sucks Donkey Balls Version"?
assault was alright but certainly not 64 standards, I actually personally thought GX was freaking AWESOME and yet I here so many people list F-Zero X as their favorite in the series, also Miyamoto apparently wasn't to keep about GX for some reason. Still there are other series that don't look like they're doing good.
Assault was ok but it took forever to be made and was made externally, we also had to endure Starfox Adventures (not a starfox game, and I say this not just because it sucks, but because it was originally developed as a completely separate game)
and whether you like metroid prime or not, when are we going to see the next metroid game? Metroid Prime is ending, and Retro is going to do something different so who is going to make metroid for the next system after Wii? are we going to see another handheld metroid like fusion or
zero mission?
like I said previously, what happened to
Pilotwings
Stunt Race FX
REAL Donkey Kong games
REAL Kirby games
has Super Paper Mario killed the Mario RPG franchise?
are new series like Pikmin going to die before they even get put out on two systems?
are we going to see any new HARDCORE IPs or is every new IP from nintendo going to be an educational/party experience, don't get me wrong, I love Wii sports, but I want the next thing that is as compelling as Zelda or Metroid.
