Star Ocean runs too fast
Moderator: ZSNES Mods
The conclusion seems to be that the processor model doesn't affect it at all.

My SO ran perfectly fine in battles , only time a game ever run stoo fast is if I let it go over limit cuz the system is faster than needed , so I just turn on auto frame skip , but my max skip is like 0 ... 4 on my lappy or old comp.

ROM is good.Nach wrote:Everyone who does or doesn't have the problem, can you specify if you have an AMD or Intel proccessor?
CPU: Intel Celeron, 2.7GHz
Snes9X: Runs OK.
ZSnes: Too fast, especially at the end of battle, when you get EXP, Gold, Items, etc.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

Wow...that would be quite suprising if that turned out to be somehow processor-related.Nach wrote:Everyone who does or doesn't have the problem, can you specify if you have an AMD or Intel proccessor?
Anyway, I experience the problem. I have an Intel processor.
Starting to think that the people who says they don't have the unusual speed problem simply don't see it.
It's faster then it should...but not fastfoward-key-faster, you know. Faster to the point that it would make some battles much harder.

That could be. I have no trouble playing it and don't notice anything weird, but I have no idea what the speed should be. What we really need is someone who played it on the SNES.Dmog wrote: Starting to think that the people who says they don't have the unusual speed problem simply don't see it.

I'm going to do some comparisons later between my different PCs and Snes9x.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

Shit I was going to do the same thing today. There was something I wanted to check out for myself, that is unrelated to this issue. Can anybody explain why the shadows of the buildings in the first town look like... falling rain?ReRuss wrote:There I bid on it... Happy?
Well, I was thinking about asking if any of the ZSNES devs needed an actual Star Ocean cartridge.
If ReRuss has already bid on it, then I will wait to see what happens.

Some advice ReRuss..
When you're going to bid on an E-Bay auction (or any other auction), at least make sure you have the proper amount of money before you go on your bidding spree. Be lucky you got outbid.
