plus the fact that this isn't the place to submit requests

I'm sure developers can add useless features, but would also rather not.Musky Melon wrote:Yes, I could install that software but I'd rather not.
You might as well save filesize on the code and take the screenshot function out since it is entirely useless. I'd be happier without it rather than having some half-assed function that does nothing more than increase file-size seeing there is nothing useful you can do with it.phOnYmIkE wrote:I'm sure developers can add useless features, but would also rather not.Musky Melon wrote:Yes, I could install that software but I'd rather not.
I read this necrothread and thought to myself "image resizing, web based shit, USE SERVER BASED IMAGE EDITING TOOLS THROUGH A SCRIPT!!" and then I saw my avatar, and it was me saying exactly what I was thinking, but the post was almost a year old!
HOLY SHIT! THE NOOBS WILL NEVER LEARN!!!
who the hell wants to see your screenshots anyways. quit wasting your time and go play some sports or something more productive.
Well, of course you're entitled to your opinion, but that's not why the screenshot function exists.Musky Melon wrote:You might as well save filesize on the code and take the screenshot function out since it is entirely useless. That's also incorrect, but you fail to see why your feature request is not being taken seriously. What's really disturbing is that nobody here seems to want to make any improvements at all. What are you doing now? Ensuring that this one random game that two people in the entire world play has the perfect sound synchronization when a certain, near impossible condition is reached?
Seeing as I am not a developer; from a user perspective it seems rather pointless. However, I'd like to know what exactly the purpose the screenshot function is if it is for more than just making pictures.Deathlike2 wrote:Well, of course you're entitled to your opinion, but that's not why the screenshot function exists.Musky Melon wrote:You might as well save filesize on the code and take the screenshot function out since it is entirely useless. It is for verifying what one sees on the screen via the internal buffer used to display the graphics. Printscreen is primarily for those that wants their supersized screenshots.Musky Melon wrote:Seeing as I am not a developer; from a user perspective it seems rather pointless. If some app can do the task for you, it would be wise to take advantage of the option instead of complaining about it. Other that outputting a screenshot that uses hires modes, there is no fundamental reason that ZSNES must provide a method to produce a screenshot of the size specified if you can use something as simple as Printscreen, or a 3rd party utility to do this for you.The last comment was uncalled for and I apologize but I have yet to hear an actual good reason as to why it is such a bad idea to implement—to take an existing function and make it more useful. Like I said before I'm not demanding immediate action.
It is the same argument that people use for wanting brightness/saturation controls for ZSNES, instead of using provided video card or 3rd party utilities. Unless a developer wants this feature in, there is no compelling reason otherwise. It is the same for all projects.Again, I understand that there are third-party applications for screenshots but given that most other emulators and most other games have a built-in screenshot function that produces images at the user's selected resolution there is really no need to use a third-party application.

Code: Select all
<jmr> bsnes has the most accurate wiki page but it takes forever to load (or something)
Wow. Well, just forget it, Zsnes devs! Byuu, drop what you're doing! Because apparently, you're not making any progress at all. Everything you've been working on has just been invalidated by mr. Melon here. Progress means better screenshot functions, don't you know.Musky Melon wrote:What's really disturbing is that nobody here seems to want to make any improvements at all. Irfanview does that, too. It does everything. : )Nach wrote:I don't think what one wants is an external screenshot program, but a screen resizing program like Image Magick. With it, one can just tell it to resize all your screenshots to any size you like.
The real question is why you're making an emulator when there's a perfectly working Snes and photo machines.blackmyst wrote:Wow. Well, just forget it, Zsnes devs! Byuu, drop what you're doing! Yes, and a dozen filters, including PhotoShop stuff.Irfanview does that, too. It does everything. : )
