It is just a attempt to combine Woosley translation with the Manga/Anime fan boys who prefer fansubs than dubs.

Skyrender's translation is "meh" that needs American spicing.Joe Camacho wrote:I seriously doubt that Squarenix care enough to know of the existence of Skyrender's "translation", even more "combining" it with Woosley's.Neo Kaiser wrote:It is just a attempt to combine Woosley translation with Skyrender's.
Squareenix did a good a good job over Woosley's translation (which is more or less pretty good anyways). There are a few instances to help the newbie figure out the game though (which is "ok", but somewhat slightly annoying).

Unless there is something specific requirement that I'm not aware of, they "fixed" Tonberries rage by displaying you got it... too bad it is unselectable.
Squarenix (Squaresoft) fucking this up... a second time. Brilliant.

This isn't the first time you write that makes no sense, so don't try to cover this up.Neo Kaiser wrote:I was not serious. I fixed it now if your intelligence was offended. Massive disappointment on a few things... especially the "ultimate weapons" for certain characters. Merit Award has been nerfed for Gogo+Gau... Gogo is affected the least (Gogo weapon selection to allow Runic+Swordtech is affected and it is silly on many levels because many weapons have Swordtech/Runic properties and now these extra properties are useless), but Gau is affected the most. Some lack of thought was put into this.

I think the original Woosley translation was pretty into the point. There are some parts that I like and some that look just plain forced (like the initial conversation between Wedge and Biggs). So far, I just reached Figaro Castle, so I dunno what to expect right now.Deathlike2 wrote:Skyrender's translation is "meh" that needs American spicing.Joe Camacho wrote:I seriously doubt that Squarenix care enough to know of the existence of Skyrender's "translation", even more "combining" it with Woosley's.Neo Kaiser wrote:It is just a attempt to combine Woosley translation with Skyrender's.

The bosses aren't as tough as they look. Then again, playing enough FF3 hacks made me much better at this, so they look relatively crappy (most of them) by comparison.Clements wrote:I have beaten most of the game now inc. all the 8 Dragons and triad bosses, and three of the new espers, apart from defeating Kefka, possibly others. I can reach the new Dragon's Den, where there are some really tough bosses.

I lost three times to the Ice Dragons, but I just managed to beat them. I thought I was overpowered enough to beat them normally, but apparently not. I read the new Dragon's Den guide in GameFAQs and it said to use Ice Shields. After that, he healed me a lot of the time. I only had to worry about his physical attacks and him casting stop/freeze on me.

Well, that should be obvious.Clements wrote:I lost three times to the Ice Dragons, but I just managed to beat them. I thought I was overpowered enough to beat them normally, but apparently not. Elemental Shields are way more powerful than stats let on.

Well I have two small bugs:
1.)The three enemies you meet in the Narshe mines (when you fail to follow the way in the labyrinth) do not appear in the bestiary.
2.)In the place where you get to choose which of the three ways you want to follow (where you use Mog), you can go below the lower part of the screen. It seems they forgot to heighten the screen limit from the SNES version.

I'm not sure about FF5A, but on all the ports there is always a good chance some monsters get omitted by the Beastiary either due to design (eg. monsters that appear under a particular circumstance) or complete oversight.Corronchilejano wrote:Well I have two small bugs:

are they going to re release all 6 of the Final Fantasies again on PSP or just 1 + 2
also, Skyrender's next attempt should be much better once he gets around to it.

The PSP is only getting a "facelift" port of what you got from the GBA port. Nothing new except probably some bugfixes.snkcube wrote:From what I've read so far, it's only the first two.Panzer88 wrote:are they going to re release all 6 of the Final Fantasies again on psp or just 1 + 2

That might have something to do with playing it on an emulator or a DS. It still seems as if developers are still basing the colors of games on what it'll look like on an original GBA (which most games indeed look a lot less washed out on, even if they do have a brightness setting).lockharte wrote:i still prefer the SNES version, though. the colors were much better
