Dealing with Vista makes me want to strangle people. Hrm if you have XP installed anywhere it'll probably work okay. I'd go and try it on my Vista box but, it probably wouldn't help much at all.
Edit: Okay tried it and of coarse it was pointless since it worked. Something else is wrong with your system if it's complaining about a DEP problem. There's other people better suited for troubleshooting here though. If it works there's not much I can do to help.

I noticed my Athlon 64 X2 6000+ does support hardware DEP. I might try running it on my XP laptop later, it'll pry work there.
*edit* OK, tried running it on the laptop and, surprisingly, when trying to load a ROM it crashed with "snesgt.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close". Nothing about DEP popped up when it happened like it does with Vista. According to Wikipedia I would have gotten a "To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program." pop up in XP if DEP was the problem, but who knows.

The past 2 motherboards I've purchased aren't exactly high end boards in the slightest and one is 4 years old... both support the option in the BIOS, I doubt many 'new' motherboards these days, lack this feature.
ASUS P5LD2 rev. 1 and P5KC.

no dummy, you did:franpa wrote:I never said it is available in all motherboards.
You made the assumption it's available on all motherboards by making the above statement - ergo you said the same.franpa wrote:you can easily disable hardware DEP in your BIOS and then re-run the program as a test.

- Yes, but don’t change the subject.
- Yes, but don’t change the subject.
That was in refrence to my previous posts, my current one assumes that motherboards made in 2004 or newer have the feature and older motherboards most likely don't.funkyass wrote:no dummy, you did:franpa wrote:I never said it is available in all motherboards.

On a whim I tried loading an unzipped ROM with this today and it didn't crash. If it had fast forward, rewind, and hq filters (features I've become far too accustomed to in ZSNES) I'd pry switch from ZSNES to this. Speed and sound are perfect. I love the GUI. It was pretty easy to zip through and configure everything. I wouldn't mind ZSNES 2.0 looking like this

It lacks things like a cheating ability (and no, to me CEP isn't a viable cheater for this).

Haha, I looked through the sparse readme and somehow missed that bit of info on filter plugin support.

Ok, found the function key fastforward option. That leaves rewind. SNESGT doesn't stutter like ZSNES does (I've tried a few things to fix this, blame it on Vista?) as well. I kinda liked being able to rewind though; Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is one of my favorite games

This piece of information fixed my problem with loading zipped ROMS. Read The Fucking Manual indeed.SNESGT Readme wrote:--------------------

You can use the Kega filters?! Huh, no wonder beta 5 crashed when I used them, but now they're supported...this I gotta see. And yes, sound emulation is very accurate (Bsnes is no. 1, though).mudlord wrote:The emulator supports Kega Fusion filter plugins.hq filters (features I've become far too accustomed to in ZSNES)
Solves that issue entirely.
I agree with you however, the emulator does have a tendency to grow on you.

Is it just me, or in Super Mario World (U) [!] there's a one second lag for sound effects? Jump and see what happens.
