Post by HonoredShadow »

Fusion emualtor for Sega Genesis/Megadrive has an option in the ini to force 32bit.

I there a way to change something in ZSnes to forice 32bit?

Thanks all.

You have to change your own video settings to 32 bit color. ZSNES can't really do that for you.
Try out CCleaner and other free software at Piriform

There is no need here unless you plan on running even slower than normal. The games don't look magically better in 32-bit in any case. In fact, rendering in 32-bit will increase the CPU load, especially if you are using any of the HQx modes.

Fullscreen is always 16-bit, Windowed uses the same color depth as your desktop resolution. If I have to hear a gripe about requesting an option to be added here, this thread will be locked for stupidity.

the reason Fusion supported this could possibly be because of the different systems it emulated, although I don't think any of them used 32-bit color, I'm not sure about the SegaCD or 32X but that could be the reason they supported it, where as Zsnes has no need to really.
Seriously, what kind of asshole makes an old-school 2D emulator that requires a Core 2 to get full speed? >:(
Thanks for the reply's. The reason I ask is only because im running through a TV and this is the only emulaator I have that MAKES windows change from 32bit colour to 16bit. My desktop is on 32bit as default.

My TV changes a bit like a monitor it makes a few strage, just audible noice and clicks as it changes and I just wnted to eliminate constant changing of colour depth.
I knew the games would look no better and I dont need any filters of any kind as it all coming through a tele.

So there is no way then?

I just told you the answer. Use a Windowed mode if you don't want to switch color depth (surely I hope you paid attention to what I wrote).
