Disgaea on the DS

If you already own Disgaea: Hour of Darkness on the PS2, this might be not worth buying, unless the new features entices you.

For some reason I always could repress handheld-related urges.

Weird huh ?

The PSP port was fantastic - alternate story mode with Etna for a main character? Yes thanks. Can't see myself buying it a third time though.

Chance to play something I didn't really care about. Good.

since I'm not much of a Disgaea knowing person, how does this stack up against the PSP port and the original? which has the most features? which looks the best?
Seriously, what kind of asshole makes an old-school 2D emulator that requires a Core 2 to get full speed? >:(
Some good Etna touching could make for great sales.

I hope you didn't actually use the UMD to play with its awful loading times. Just install custom firmware from the M33 series and set it to read from the UMD instead of Pro Duo stick and you can dump the UMD to your hard drive then copy the ISO to your memory stick. That'll be much faster than waiting for the UMD to load and that way you won't have to take any UMDs with you.

I'll consider DOWNLOADING it if they've fixed the grindiness. And at that, only consider.

That's kinda part of the spirit, and won't change. Might as well give up ?

I've always considered Disgaea to be fundamentally flawed on almost every level.
It gets a free ride due to personality, which really seems to be all it has going for it aside from stupidly large numbers.

That's about it, really. It's clearly not supposed to be enjoyed by everyone.
Part of the fun is developing the best methods for every aspect of character growth more than applying them.
And then the various overkill attack animations.

Stupidly large numbers and proud of it !
