Secret of Mana not letting me progress
Okay, first, I am not using Zsnes, but SnesGT 0.230 beta 3 and this is the bug I am reporting about, I have just beaten the Fire Gigas and got Gnome's magic (I even got a bloody walkthrough) and the game prompts me to go to the ruins in Pandora city. Well, I do and I'm supposed to me some person called Phanna. Well, I go there, but the game just doesn't continue like it's supposed to. I followed the FAQ as I was supposed to. Never had this issue before. Maybe it's a bad dump. Here's the NSRT 3.4 output as follows
File - Secret of Mana.SMC Name - SoM VWF by FuSoYa
Company -Square Header - Exists (type?)
Bank - HiROM Interleaved - None
SRAM - 64 Kb Type - Normal + Batt
ROM - 24 Mb Country - USA
Video - NTSC ROM Speed - 200ns (SlowROM)
Revision - 1.0 Checksum - Good 0x51FC
Hashes:
CRC32 D36F5341 MD5
833EC401B570A0879CEA44A38C4BEF49
Error - ROM wasn't found in the database (possible bad dump).
Error - You can try using -fix or -findover to see if the
Error- file has been slightly altered in a rectifiable way.

Crap. I see your point. It's been ages since I played this game all the way through and so I though it was one of those stupid emulation bugs that prevented progress (like how Dreamcast emulators make is impossible to complete the game after getting the Light Speed Dash in Sonic Adventure). Thanks.

It could happen elsewhere, and was extremely prone to happen around whip poles - except you could cancel its effect using the whip pole itself, so that wasn't so bad.
The worst I did was get stuck 2 tiles away from a pole, because the 2 other charas were floating far away and locked the screen in place.
In the mana fortress, where the magic rope doesn't work.
With a couple lv9 orbs in the bag.
Much swearing happened.
SD3's movement routines successfully fixed that, fortunately.

<jmr> bsnes has the most accurate wiki page but it takes forever to load (or something)
Seconded. Started saving after every run in/out of the MF after that happened.grinvader wrote:It could happen elsewhere, and was extremely prone to happen around whip poles - except you could cancel its effect using the whip pole itself, so that wasn't so bad.
