Invalid format
As my handle says im a noob to this emulator stuff, so plz have patients. My very 1st question ihere s: i was attempting to set resolution settings, clicking different ones basically at random and i thought this was safe to do because as u do this it says if resolution settings are incompatible it will go back to previous settings when u (i) press spacebar. it worked a few times but the last time it made my screen go black permanently, with a pop up warning saying "Invalid Format".....if i press esc i can hear the game music but screen still stays black. I would greatly apprecieate instructions as to how to fix short of having to reinstall game. If this helps??- The game is "donkey Kong Country" (i actually have all 3) and my monitor is a full HD 1080 pixel 37' inch wide screen tV. Thx soooo Much!!!!!
Re: Invalid format
Easiest would be deleting zsnesw.cfg if you don't want to mess with it, Otherwise, open it up and change the value for cvidmode to a different mode. There should be a table right above it. A "WIN" mode would be most safe to start with.
Maybe these people were born without that part of their brain that lets you try different things to see if they work better. --Retsupurae
Re: Invalid format
And i would find "zsnesw.cfg" where exactly ?? its not in my start menu & when i try n' open sznes either from start menu or desktop its still black. And also would u happen to know how to avoid this same prob in future??? Thx 4 ne help!!
Re: Invalid format
Where is zsnesw.exe? Did you use some unofficial installer package that places start menu and desktop icons? You should use the one off zsnes.com's main page.

Re: Invalid format
Delete what you got and download it from http://zsnes.com/.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.
Re: Invalid format
ok, so i uninstalled what i had & got it from the proper site... Now In startup i have a zsnesw151.zip file but it only shows up if i type zsnes in the search, and i think its just to install...dont seem to have a zsnes.exe...and NO shortcuts... wth?!?!
Re: Invalid format
You need to extract the contents of the zip farchive to a folder of your choice. You'll find zsnes.exe and all other related files inside that zip archive.
Re: Invalid format
May i ask why its important where zsnes comes from ?? Cause i noticed a lot of the game for it on torrent sites offer u the emulator with game. What's the difference???odditude wrote:Delete what you got and download it from http://zsnes.com/.
Re: Invalid format
Getting it from the official site guarantees that you get the latest official version, which is important to know when asking for help so you're not wasting everybody's time because you had a weird build or something.
Also, distributing the emulator together with ROMs is not allowed.
