If a translation isn't listed there, it doesn't exist. If there is just a 50% completed translation, there isn't any "other half"

He *could* post a technical help request at the whirlpool... if ALL the script has been correctly translated.

You're damn right. If it were so easy, I'd have sure as heck have finished all my projects by now. Instead, there's usually enough technical issues and things to program to keep me busy for a very very long time on many of these games.Metatron wrote:Just doing the text hardly qualifies as a halfway done patch... There could very well be nightmare technical issues.
If 'all you need' is the programming, you still need a whole heck of alot! You CAN get a game that is very simple to hack and you can insert a script in one day, but chances of that are very small for your game in question.
Also, somebody writing down all the text in the game can be COMPLETELY USELESS! I'd almost garuntee you this game doesn't store the text in the order which it appears. It would be a large task to take that English handwritten script and rearrange it so it can have any chance in hell of being reinserted into the game. I also highly doubt somebody wrote down every single string in the entire game. In most games, you will not see every single string in the game in one playthrough.. or even two or three or more in some cases.
Furthermore, what about the menus and items etc..? Did this translator write them down too? They better have or that's more work there. In fact, often times menu work can be the most difficult work of the entire project.
You severly underestimate what it takes to translate a game. You have now been slightly educated. Carry on.
