suggestions for the snes emu that just keeps getting better

Post by gukid »

I never thought I'd ever have to put in some suggestions, but I've just recently thought of a few pretty (probably) simple things that I wanted to suggest.

The first one, is the ability to map the menu to a button on a gamepad. This way I wouldn't have to reach up to the mouse if I wanted to change games, since it can all be navigated with the gamepad anyway (and I have extra buttons. perhaps mapping fast forward as well... may be too tempting...)

The 2nd is probably a lot more complicated, which is to enable loading roms from 7zip files, that contain multiple files (would sort of browse into them like subdirectories). This one may involve getting licensing and whatnot, but would be a really cool feature to people like me who have a big compressed collection.

Anyway, that's it for now. Great work guys! Been a zsnes supporter (by playing it :P) since the beginning!

Your first suggestion has been coming up an awful lot, and apparently it's not very difficult, but for some reason it remains something rather elusive.

You can map most of ZSNES togglable(sp?) functions to a gamepad button, inluding fast-forward etc., AFAIK.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

If that's what you think, you do it.
Crossing emulation and GUI boundries is not pretty. Toggling a variable via a key though isn't hard.

:X Sorry.

I thought so because that's what I'd heard here, and also because: http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... ght=#36614

Escaping doesn't do something to the GUI, so it's not hard.
