Internet Sharing

Ok everyone, I am new to this, so don't make it hard on me. I am using Internet Sharing on Windows XP. I don't use a router, I just connect the 2 computers directly with an Ethernet cord. How can I play on the Internet with others from across the country. I can play on my LAN but I don't know how to play with someone over the Internet.

Do you have microsoft firewall? You need to configure it too.

How do I configure that? I mean, when I go into the firewall, what do I do next.

There is a sticky on how to forward ports in this forum, you can also read the documentation that should come with microsoft firewall.
